The One Piece Ball Valve is the most cost effective way to control flow where a on or off flow action is required. Since the body is made from one piece, a smaller ball is used than ball size used in the 2 piece or 3 piece ball valve. However the advantage of the one piece design is that these valves are durable and not prone to leaking. They perform best in robust applications where flow rate is not a concern.

• The benefit of this is that there are no joints for leaking to occur making these 1 piece ball valve's durable and reliable.
• No tooling is needed for installation.
• Cost-effective: Standard/reducing port valves are usually cheaper than full port valves. Suitable applications: Applications where high flow rates are not critical and cost savings are important, like smaller piping systems or where space constraints exist.

• The down side of the one piece design is that this makes it a standard port ball valve, also called a reduced port.
• This means the ID of the pipe drops one size, once the valve is installed in line.
• Smaller flow capacity: Due to the smaller internal opening, these valves restrict flow compared to a full port valve, leading to potential pressure drops.

A "standard port" valve and a "reducing port" valve are essentially the same thing, meaning both have a smaller internal diameter (port) compared to the pipe size they connect to, creating a flow restriction, while a "full port" valve has a port size equal to the pipe diameter; essentially, a reducing port valve is just another term for a standard port valve in most applications.

Ball Valve is "open" when handle is inline with valve body, and flow is "closed" when handle is at 90 degrees.
